If you have a potential clash with a school activity or family holiday, we suggest you wait until the examination schedule and dates have been confirmed and then enter as a late entry if the dates are suitable.

DATES

• APDA Exams/Assessments- Term 3 between 1st - 19th September 2025. We request the first week of September but this cannot be guaranteed. 

• DSOD Performance Awards- Term 3 Friday 19th September 2025.

(exact dates are confirmed by the APDA and DSOD after entries are received).

MOCK EXAMS

Mock exams for exam/assessment students will be held over the following weekends:

• 16th & 17th August 2025

• 23rd & 24th August 2025

(exact dates will be confirmed at the beginning of Term 3 after entries have been received and exam dates confirmed).

REQUIREMENTS

• Students must have been regularly attending 1 tap lesson per week since the beginning of Term 1 to sit an examination or assessment. 

• Students must have been regularly attending 1 tap lesson per week since the beginning of Term 2 to sit a performance medal.

• Students must continue to attend every class (unless sick - please still attend if injured!), practice at home with the use of Band videos, music, exam practice pack and attend mock exams and private lessons where suggested if wishing to enter an exam or class award. 

• It will be at the teachers discretion if your child should enter an exam or assessment. They will take into consideration attendance, evidence of some home practice and progress and focus in classes throughout the term. This is for the benefit of your child so they don't feel pressured and under prepared for their exam. They may of course move to the next level with their peers if they do not sit their exam. Performance Awards are always an option for all students.

• Students must purchase the compulsory uniform items as specified on the website to be able to partake in an exam or class award www.devonportschoolofdance.com/uniform

PAYMENT

• Payment is to be made by Sunday 13th April 2025 into the DSOD account: 02-0888-0125761-000 using your child's name, grade and "exam" as the reference.

*please note an extra exam admin fee of $25.00 per exam/assessment and $15.00 for the performance award has been included in entry fees to cover expenses associated with running exams. These admin fees are non-refundable*

Exams and performance awards are optional but are highly encouraged!
